Dancers, musicians, weavers and artists of all kinds presented their work across Echo Park on Saturday during the Echo Park Art Walk. Despite some heavy tagging and gang graffiti that sprang over night on Echo Park Avenue, the people who came to admire the art and explore the neighborhood seemed to pay more attention to the colorful chalk drawings and stencils drawn by artists on the streets and sidewalks.

  1. they tag up EP every year before the art walk; pissing on fire hydrants. wonder what they would do if the president was coming to the neighborhood.

    • Thank the Lord for “…the colorful chalk drawings and stencils drawn (legally?) by artists on the streets and sidewalks.” Otherwise we’d be forced to look at the product of those taggers who seem to have this day marked on their calenders so as not to forget to disrupt our “art walk.” They may not be able to afford live here anymore but they can find their way back to the old neighborhood.
