There’s a sushi shake-up happening in Silver Lake and Echo Park, with new owners taking over Koda Sushi in Silver Lake and a ramen takeover planned for Miyako in Echo Park.
Koda Sushi and Sake of Silver Lake is now Kombu Sushi and Sake, with Harry Wan at the helm. Koda’s website says “Under New Ownership,” and directs folks to the Kombu website, which has been open for over a week, according to a post on Instagram. Meanwhile, Jiro Ramen is preparing to take over the space now occupied by Miyako, the sushi and Japanese restaurant that operates in a mini shopping center at the corner of Sunset and Rosemont Avenue in Echo Park.
There’s a state notice taped to the window announcing the pending sale of Miyako’s beer and wine license to Jiro Ramen. We don’t have any details about Jiro Ramen, but according to state records, Jitaek Lim is in charge of Jiro Ramen. Is this the same Jitaek Lim who also owns the constantly crowded Silverlake Ramen and opened Kush Sake Bar in Echo Park? Stay tuned.
