EL SERENO — Police are searching for a suspect or suspects in the fatal shooting that took place Monday night in the 3700 block of McKenzie Avenue.
The victim, a 26-year-old Latino, was standing in front of a building with two or three other males at about 7:30 p.m. when numerous shots were fired from an unknown direction, said Norma Eisenman, a spokesperson with the LAPD.
The victim was hit in the chest and was transported to the hospital where he died of his injuries, said Eisenman.
It is unknown whether the shooting was gang related. But police with LAPD’s Hollenbeck Division said the victim was not affiliated with any gang.
