The bride wore a stretch-polyester dress and the groom an Indian tunic. The pre-wedding reception took place underneath a highway underpass. A procession of guests followed Japanese drummers down trash filled streets to the site of the ceremony officiated by a punk-rock guitarist/welder/minister. Not your typical exchange of vows. But a more conventional wedding was probably never in the cards for Jenna Didier and Oliver Hess, the couple behind the outdoor art space, Materials & Applications, on Silver Lake Boulevard.
Their ceremony and courtship was the featured story in the Sunday New York Times’ Weddings section.
