What will attract more buyers to the Oxy Lofts now rising on Eagle Rock Boulevard? Is it the “Bauhaus Meets Bohemian” style promoted by developer Piedmont Investment or the condos’ proximity to The Bucket, Eagle Rock’s popular hamburger stand that sits right next door? The 32-unit condo project, which is scheduled to be finished in July with prices starting in the $400,000 range, ranks as one of the biggest developments along Eagle Rock Boulevard. While another popular restaurant, Auntie Em’s, is located nearby, Eagle Rock Boulevard remains the relatively sleepy counterpart to Colorado Boulevard, which has drawn most of the boutiques, coffee houses and cafes to Eagle Rock in recent years. Still, the developers – Paul Pagnone, who grew up in Eagle Rock, and Atwater native Ron Insalaco – are counting on the neighborhood’s cachet to trickle down Eagle Rock Boulevard.
“In recent years, folks are moving to Eagle Rock as the ‘secret’ seems to have gotten out about this great community,” said broker Jason Insalaco in an email. “We know Eagle Rock has always been a great area and we are happy to be a part of the community.”
