Along with coffee houses and bars, Echo Park’s other major industry seems to be vintage apparel and accessories, with about half a dozen shops selling everything from apparel and eyeglasses to furniture and stereos. Añejo Duddery recently opened its doors on Sunset Boulevard in the shell of a previous vintage shop, The Clinic, which closed last May. Añejo Duddery, the first vintage venture by former restaurant owners, is heavy on costumes at the moment in time for Halloween, said store manager Mario Olid. He said the store plans to focus on “affordable vintage” clothing, hats and other accessories for men, women as well as kids. The narrow shop, which is located on the same block as The Echo and Echoplex, is also gearing itself to cash in on the evening club and bar crowd, staying open until midnight on Thursday through Sunday.
