An Echo Park woman named Liz who lives on Quintero Street reports that thieves were able to get inside her locked Toyota Prius with a keyless early Wednesday at about 1:45 a.m. However, the thieves, who made off with an Ipod Nano, were not entirely successful, Liz reports via email.
Just want you to know that my locked car was broken into yesterday on my driveway on Quintero Street in EP. What makes it concerning is the car was locked and they got past the keyless entry [on the driver’s door]. They got away with my Nano but tripped themselves up when the tried to open the non-driver doors that were locked and it triggered an alarm. So they were smart enough to break in but not smart enough to unlock the car.
