An Echo Park woman named Beth and a friend have tried without success to find the owner of a male pit bull that turned up late last week near Elysian Park Drive and Montana Street, near Memorial Grove. Here are the details:
We’ve been trying to grab him but he’s hurt, scared and in no mood for leashes. So we’ve been keeping him fed and watered and he’s been content to sleep under the shady bushes on Elysian Park Drive off Douglas. We’ve heard that he lives nearby, that his owner is out of town and that the neighbor who was watching him lost him then came by and looked for him on Friday but we haven’t seen anyone and the dog is still here. We’ve leafletted the neighborhood, called everyone we know who works with dogs, connected with EPAA. I think we need more eyes on this guy to find his owner. And LAAS is understaffed and told us that with one officer for the whole city we were unlikely to get any help from them.
